Dream Sequence

Dream Sequence

Various demo versions with the occasional guest vocalist. Other tunes with the hippy singing will be re-recorded when we find a better singer to do the job better.

Take me with you (06)
Power Ballad. Dream Sequence with Brett Simms.
We should really get him do a proper vocal, don't you think? This one was a bit rushed, but we all sat there thinking.... hmmm, not bad!

Sweet Love
Huge!! Rocks along with happiness and groove. Made for someone who didn’t quite get the idea of love not needing commodities to keep it alive.

Alis Song w donna
Ballad from the Aurora days (see below) with Donna on vox, and filling the room with a beautiful sound. We want to record a lot of different stuff with this amazing voice.

Bastardz
Chunky melodic metal.
Lyrics & vox; hippy, music by Scott Seymour
For Don Chipp, Australian democrat and man to ‘keep the bastards honest’.

Closer now
Ballad with hippy singing and tinkling the ivories. Written for Michelle. Luverly

ex i
Power Ballad. A song to play to someone if you’re not happy with the relationship and you just want to leave. “Your honey don’t taste sweet in the mornin’…”

Scented Waters w/ donna
Ballad. With Donna again. Gorgeous.

Aurora
 From AAA+1=8 mini album demo 92 4 U – 1992
We sold half of the 1000 copies of the original recording, which wasn’t too bad at all. People keep stopping us and singing our songs to us…. Amazing.

Opus #1
Rock. A homage to many of the bands of the 70’s and 80’s who inspired the band. How many can you recognize?

Take me with you
Ballad. The original version, written entirely from a dream at 2am. I thought "Isn’t this a nice song? I’ll write it down in the morning." Then a little voice said "Write it down now, because you’ll forget it by morning." So I woke up with a piece of paper and a guitar beside me, read the paper, played the song, and here it is.

Price of the world
Funk. Groovy socio-political rock, with the drummer and guitarist mucking around at the beginning.

sayonara baybee
Mega Ballad. A tune to say "thank you, i love you, goodbye" in as many languages as the guitarist could think of at the time.

little voices
Groove. A song with a social conscience and a smooth solo

Alis song
Acoustic Ballad. Yep, another song about a lovely human who went away OS. So of course she had to have a tune made for the occasion…

Spare a little time
Acoustic Ballad. The original ballad version, which changed to a big blues for gigs. About a girl who said it made her cry (for all the best reasons) when we played it.

Turmoil part one
Melodic Metal. lyrics: vhee & ian macdonald, arrangement: aurora
A huge song about people not treating the world with any respect.

Growing Up
Power Ballad. Written by vhee when Macca the bass player said “I saw a different face in the mirror today…”
A dirty recording, but it gives a good idea of what the song will be like soon.

Funky Garden
Rock! Lyrics by Warren Glover. What a riff! A funky way to make some social commentary get ya dancin’.

WAWWA
Damo and vhee made some eclectic music for a couple of years. From blues to strange epics, we just did what we liked and liked what we did. Sometime in the future we hope to make the three albums

Am What I Am
A cute little pop song about being yourself.

goin away (original)
A “happy to say goodbye” song in ¾ time, with a nice drunk vocal break in the middle. Very singalongable.

goin away (indimix)
Speed up the tune, make it more like the Beatles, and get rid of the drunk bit.

Oh so lonely (when you're gone gone gone)
Is actually a happy song. The acoustic version from the ABC.

Rise
(to the occasion) – Recorded acoustically live to air at ABCs Hobart studio at 11am!!! (what sort of time do you call that?!) Drums, bass and guitar riff added later in the DS studio, just to give it some more grunt. Groovy.

spare a little time (06)
Dream Sequence with Damian Donnelly (of WAWWA) on vocals. Originally recorded by Aurora as an acoustic ballad (see below). Given the rockabilly treatment by WAWWA in 2001 to get the toe tapping.

today was only meant for this
A huge power ballad. Demo made in Melbourne, with a riff found in a Hobart kitchen when Don and the hippy lived in the same building in Dynnyrne.

Sabre Wulf
from Live @the Victoria Tavern, Hobart, official bootleg
Recorded in glorious mono on a Sony Walkman tape recorder, with Scott on drums and vhee playing a beautiful Ibanez Black Eagle bass. Rough as guts and possibly not the most brilliant performance, but it's interesting to hear what Scott and Vhee were like when they were just starting in the music biz.

devils hand
lyrics: Mick Hoad, music: Seymour, Chiavassa, Vhee
The same gig, a groovy song with cool bass and no social relevance at all.

Judge and Jury
lyrics: Mick Hoad, music: Seymour, Chiavassa, Vhee

Street Legal
lyrics: Mick Hoad, music: Seymour, Chiavassa, Vhee

The Prisoner
lyrics: Mick Hoad, music: Seymour, Chiavassa, Vhee

time is on our side (86)
lyrics: Mick Hoad, music Seymour, Chiavassa, Vhee

Winds of Change
lyrics: Mick Hoad, music: Seymour, Chiavassa, Vhee

Wasted youth
lyrics: Chiavassa, music: Seymour, Chiavassa, Vhee
