Dream Sequence

Music through time

Here are some of the ORIGINAL bands Scott and Vhee have played with over the years. From Sabre Wulf at the beginning, to Dream Sequence now, all have played their own style, and all have made good noise!

You can hear samples of music from all of these bands on our Songs page.

Dream Sequence

A new groove of commercial rock for large crowds to sing along to. Wanna buy some?

The newest incarnation of a musical experience of two friends, who want to make music for the world to hear. Scott on drums and various twiddling, Vhee on guitar and many other things. Songs mostly writ by Vhee, arranged by both lads.

Sometime around March of 06 the idea was hatched to create Dream Sequence, a small music-centered production house creating songs for all kinds of consumers.

Michelle found the investment, Vhee had the ideas, Scott like the idea and wrote up proposals. When the taxman finally told us we were legal, then we knew we were serious (we knew before, but this made it really serious).
Now we work from home in Tasmania, using the studio in the bedroom (which we call The TARDIS: Time and Relative Dimensions in Sound) and the computer connected to the world around us. Hope you like it...

Aurora

The best Tasmanian band in the world!!! Not just groovy, but fun, intense, strange, awesome and cool!

Macca joined S&V to play bass after he met S one drunken evening on a college oval party. "Can't play but I’m willing to learn," Mac said. V came back from Queensland (where he was escaping a mad ex) and taught the young'n the basics. Soon enough they were confidently making instrumental rock. The name came from a night of sitting on a car watching the Southern Lights flaring across the sky. "That'd be a good name for a band," someone said. All agreed. Then a singer called Warren was stolen from another band (oops), he liked the music, and before you know it, Aurora was playing in sh#!*y pubs and good ones too, Casino halls, on the telly and radio, touring high schools...  in fact anywhere they could.  The band broke up in 2004 due to a dodgy manager who upset the chemistry. But the music still ROCKS!

WAWWA

Vhee and Damian (Don) Donnelly make groovy blues-based tunes, occasionally going into heavy melodic epics. Harmony and melody everywhere. Sitting in a pub, wondering what the next musical project would be, V met a singer called Don. They'd worked together for a while in a cover band called Agent Thumbtack (the 4-part harmonies were HUGE!) and decided to sit and play for a while. Lo and behold there issued forth a whole swag of original tunes that made the pair grin.

V had a song called "I am wot I am" so Don changed it to "We Are Wot We Are" and WAWWA was born.

There were only two gigs with drum and bass, which sounded awesome, and compliments on "Sweet Love" and other songs kept the energy moving. But mostly it was little duet gigs, playing stuff nobody had ever heard before...Getting into the finals of the Battle of the Bands at the Prince of Wales; and the finals of the Folk Songwriting Contest in Devonport, where V met a girl called........ (But that's another story).
Don moved to Melbourne (Flatland) to work and play cricket. V followed two years later, but didn't play cricket as much. Some recording produced a few epics and some blues. There is always the possibility that more recording will happen, because the songs need to be properly produced so everyone can hear them. Don is scheduled to sing on a few Dream Sequence tunes in the next few months, so watch out for more magic!

Sabre Wulf

A Rough As Guts Production!

A pub band playing in a very small pub. The first proper band the drummer and bass player (later guitarist) ever had. 1985 was a strange time. V had begun learning guitar in '83; a guitarist called Mark convinced him to take up bass, which he did. In six months they had a band which played its first gig at the New Norfolk Football Clubrooms for a beauty contestant's fundraiser. With a few originals thrown in, they played a 30 minute set in front of an uninterested audience, and it was only in the last song "Paranoid" by Black Sabbath that three gothic chicks got up and boogied!

Kicking out the singer who turned his guitar up too loud, Mick the drummer became the singer and main lyricist, so a 17 year old called Scott Seymour was brought in to replace him. That incarnation became Sabre Wulf (a name which was apparently ripped off by the guitarist from a video game at the time), and the first gig was an outdoor thing at Salamanca Place in front of about 2000 people. A pretty good gig except V's bass amp blew up slightly. (Note to drummers: never stop playing, even when you smell smoke!) The Live Official Bootleg recording was made on a walkman tape recorder sitting on the bar of the Victoria Tavern in Hobart on the night of 31/05/86. It's dirty, mono, quick and indicative of what was played. As it turned out the gig was called off quite early in the night due to someone trashing the toilets and not owning up to it.  Rock'n'Roll!!!

DISCLAIMER! As mentioned, there was a game called Sabre Wulf put out by Nintendo in 1985. The game still continues. Dream Sequence would like to apologize to Nintendo for the infringement, we are willing to discuss any remunerations or alterations to the site. We were young and we didn't know much about copyright law. Perhaps we should send you an e-mail... Yes, that seems like a good idea.
